Why it matters
Not everything we make is sprayed. These are excipient blends that work inside the formulation, carrying a hygroscopic active, adjusting a dissolution profile or masking a taste before compression rather than after it. They are supplied ready blended for the same reason the coating grades are, so the variability that comes from weighing and mixing on site is taken out.
Running it
Specify these against your granulation route rather than your coater. Tell us whether you are direct compressing, wet granulating or roller compacting, because the answer changes which blend fits.
